Six-time CCC councillor Mintu passes away

Syed Golam Haider Mintu, a six-time chose councilor in Chawkbazar ward No.16 of Chattogram City Corporation, died on Thursday. He was 69. He inhaled his last at a private medical clinic in Dhaka at about 4:30 am, said Md Kalam Chowdhury, public connection official of CCC. He abandoned his significant other, one child and a large group of family members and admirers to grieve his passing. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Parade Field in Chawkbazar after Esha petitions, Md Kalam Chowdhury said. Syed Golam Haider Mintu was chosen Chattogram region official in 1977. Later he was chosen as councilor for ward no.16 in Chattogram City Corporation in 1994. He never lost any political race since 1994. Bridge collapses as boat hit

Two people were hurt when a bridge collapsed and a brick-laden vessel crashed into it at Akhaura, Brahmanbaria, on Friday. Khalek and Habib, both from Rajbaria of Sarailupazila, were the injured passengers on the boat. Sento Miah, boat owner, stated that the boat lost control at the bridge because of the heavy water flow.
